GAGE

GAGE

GAGE is a mobile app for fantasy sports games, designed to feel like a board game for friends gathered to watch a match. It allows users to make bets and compete with each other in person or online. The client approached us to redesign their existing MVP, which was raw and underdeveloped, and transform it into an engaging and intuitive app.

What we worked on

UX Audit Brainstorming User Flow UI & UX Design Design System

Duration

~1 month

Challenge

1. Outdated user interface: Most apps in the niche had cluttered screens, complex navigation, and poor UX. 2. Lack of gamification: Users found the app dull and disengaging, with no elements to encourage active participation. 3. Low social engagement: The app lacked features that foster connections between friends or a sense of community. 4. Risk of addiction: Many betting apps emphasize money, which can encourage unhealthy habits.

Our approach

1. Audit and Research: Conducted a thorough review of the MVP and analyzed competitors to identify opportunities for improvement. 2. Collaborative Visioning: Worked closely with the client to understand their vision and define the app’s goals. 3. Flow Optimization: Redesigned the user flow to simplify navigation and make key actions intuitive. 4. UI Design: Developed a clean, modern interface that emphasizes simplicity and usability. 5. Social Features: Incorporated elements to enhance social interaction and engagement.

Results achieved

• Modern and Intuitive UI: Simplified navigation and introduced a sleek, user-friendly design. • Gamification Features: Added points, achievements, and friendly competitions to keep users engaged. • Social Engagement Tools: Implemented features like game invitations, friend achievements, and stat comparisons to foster community. • Reduced Financial Focus: Shifted the emphasis from money to points and friendly competition to create a safer experience. Outcome: GAGE now boasts a modern, engaging, and socially-driven interface, making it a fun and intuitive app for sports fans. The redesign transformed the MVP into a polished product that aligns with the client’s vision and user needs.
